I grew up in Missoula and eventually made my way to Bozeman for school. Outside of building things, I spend as much time outdoors as I can, whether that’s hunting, skiing, rafting, mountain biking, or speedflying. A lot of what I enjoy about being outside carries over into my work, especially the shapes, details, and imperfections found in nature.

Every sculpture is built entirely from scratch, one piece at a time. I work primarily with steel and recycled materials, using a welder, an angle grinder, and whatever tools I have on hand. Nothing is mass-produced, and no two pieces turn out exactly the same. They’re not perfect by any means, but just like in nature, nothing really is—and I think that’s part of what makes them interesting.

With the tools and skills I currently have, each full-size European mount takes roughly 25 to 40 hours to complete. I’m always looking for ways to improve my process, refine the details, and see what else I can build.
